We would like to take this opportunity to say a very big Thank You to your IPHE member 'Surge' of Surge Plumbing & Heating, London N13 for installing a new condensing boiler in our home recently.
We had several quotes for the job including one from British Gas. Often the plumbers did not turn up at the time they said they would or failed to give the quote promptly. Surge turned up exactly when he said he would and hand delivered a comprehensive quote very soon thereafter. He also visited us a couple of days later to drop off brochures of the boilers we were considering.
Surge's quote was very reasonable, but it was his immense patience, technical knowledge and helpfulness that made us choose him over all the others. He made us feel confidant in him from the start, was extremely courteous and we really began to feel like friends.
He took time to explain everything that needed doing and also things that may or may not need doing, so there would be no surprises. When the time came he even did one or two other things that we asked of him.
The work was carried out to a very professional & high standard and he was extremely careful of our new kitchen units & worktop that had recently been put in place, for which we were grateful of. When the job was complete he left us safe in the knowledge that we could call him at anytime if we had any problems or further questions.
We would highly recommend Surge to anyone in the area looking for a plumber and will be recommending him to anyone that crosses our paths who needs a friendly, reliable and fully competent plumber.
We have never felt so safe & reassured by any builder, plumber or electrician that we have ever previously used.

I just thought I would drop you a line to let you know a few things about an IPHE member we have recently used for our new bathroom.
The plumber we used was a chap called Martyn Davis from Budget Plumbers in Eastbourne.
We tried for several weeks to tie down a plumber to even give us a quotation on the work we required, which was a full rip out of an old suite and the full installation of a suite we had purchased. Martin was one of many plumbers who assured us he would call back to schedule an estimate, and was the only one who did. He came to see us merely a couple of days after asking, at a time that was convenient for me and also after some travelling seeing as he is based in Eastbourne and we are in Burgess Hill.
He gave us a very comprehensive estimate which was the same when the bill came to be paid and always kept us well informed of what work was going to be carried out and when.
We can safely say that during the 3 days he was with us the work carried out was to the highest level and every part of the job was done with care and detail. I would highly recommend Martin should anyone else be looking to get a quality job done and by one of the nicest tradesman both my other half and I have ever met.

(Mr James Emmerson via email) I had a plumber from your registered list come and take a look at a recently installed bathroom, with a view to installing a shower pump. In doing so he noticed a number of fundamental errors which he pointed out to me. He rectified the errors in the same evening. I felt that his service was very professional and his flexible approach to working that evening to rectify the matter was very pleasing.
Not sure if these comments will benefit the member but without this website I wouldnt have got onto him.

The total process from initial telephone call to installation was 8 days. Excellent. The work was carried out to a very high standard and in a very professional manner. My kitchen was left spotless!!!!
I did not receive the bill until he had made sure by contacting me and coming back to my home to ensure that the boiler was working to my satisfaction.
What a refreshing change. Superb Service.

(I. V. Lyndon Morgan via letter) Over the past 20 years or more we have used Mr Cooper not only for general plumbing work, but more recently on a large job involving the total re-plumbing of a 1960's flat.
Mr Cooper carried out immaculate floor and wall tiling in the bathroom and as with all his work it reflects quality and his dedication. We consider Mr Cooper to be a perfectionist in regard to his work to which he is dedicated. In addition we know that he attends a large range of courses to increase the scope of his expertise and keep abreast of legal requirements and developments relevant to his work. Both my wife and I highly commend Mr Cooper's integrity and ability.

(G.P.Gorman via letter) I write this letter to you to commend the performance of one of your members, a Mr D C Cooper MIPHE RP, the plumber we requested to replace a leaking swivel tap in our kitchen.
This tap was faulty; we tried to fix the leak on four occasions but with no success. Mr Cooper at considerable inconvenience to himself, obtained a replacement tap from his retailer and fitted it as a replacement at no charge to us, although the work took the best part of a day.
Throughout he was courteous, helpful and technically efficient. We hear so many stories of "Cowboy plumbers" - indeed, it seems the profession is crawling with them. It is therefore with great pleasure that I commend Mr Cooper's approach to his work. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a plumber.

Keith he's not a cowboy, he's a plumber through and through,
If ever I have a problem he knows exactly what to do.
For there are cowboys in the building trade and they get a nasty press,
I've had experience of such a 'bricky' whose work was such a mess.
But Keith's a proper tradesman, the work he does is fine,
He always keeps his promises and is always here on time.
I met him many years ago for I was in plight,
We had no heat in winter and he came that very night.
Since then he has done countless jobs, I'm satisfied with every one,
He seems to work continually until the job is done.
His rates are very reasonable, you cannot ask for more,
He brings his own vacuum cleaner, leaves no dust upon the floor.
He is that special person as a tradesman he has no peer,
But what will all his clients do when his retirement draws near?
For he does look after his regulars, he looks after every one,
But the future now is looking bright as he trains his eldest son.

This letter is just to say that Mr Hasted and his partner M & P Plumbing and Heating have now finished our bathroom and I just wanted to let you know they have done an excellent job. They were clean, tidy, polite and have returned to replace a faulty ball cock. Their reputation has been passed on as they are going to replace my parent's bathroom next month.

(Mrs Grande by letter) 'I must draw attention to a small firm of local plumbers who returned a telephone call, arranged an appointment within a week and sent a very pleasant and competent young man to repair a faulty toilet cistern and install and outside manifold connecting a leaky hose irrigation system.
The young man worked in a neat, clean and efficient manner and was a very good advertisement for his employers. Congratulations to Hot and Cold Installations of Harold Wood, Romford for a job very well done.'

After speaking to a couple of IPHE members, Pete Burns put me in contact with George Wingfield. George was marvellous. I for one will only now deal with plumbers of any worth and that for me would be members of your Institute.'
