Unique opportunity for consumers

Have you toyed with the idea of giving your bathroom a makeover, or replacing your elderly boiler? If you have, then you should register for the Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering’s Exhibition that will be held in the Arena at The Palace Hotel in Torquay. This free event is on 1st – 2nd June, 9am to 5pm and for the first time, it will be open to the public as well as the trade.

Consumers will have the opportunity to find out more about a whole range of products such as; underfloor heating, boilers, hot water cylinders, showers, water treatment, controls and taps.

Kevin Wellman, operations director said: “This is a unique opportunity for consumers. Members of the public will be able to chat to manufacturers and find out which products would be best suited to their home.”

Besides receiving a free gift for attending, visitors will get the chance to win a magnum of champagne each day. To register for the exhibition either download a form from www.iphe.org.uk/conference or contact Michelle Gough on 01268 545250.

Energy and water efficiency

With the cold weather becoming a distant memory, along with the hike in energy prices and talk of diminishing supplies, consumers are now being warned to conserve water. Although the government hasn’t urged people to share a bath yet, hosepipe bans are firmly in place in the South East. Many consumers are now asking what they can do to help in the continual battle to save water and energy.

The Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering has added an ‘Environment’ section to its website www.iphe.org.uk which gives advice on: Energy Labeling; Condensing Boilers; Heating Controls; Insulation; Grants; Water Conservation and Alternative Energy.

Consumers looking for a professional plumber will find a list of IPHE Registered Plumbers in their area, simply by putting in the first part of their postcodes.
